USA's Suits may be losing two of its stars, Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle. Markle has been in the headlines because of her relationship with England's Prince Harry.
According to news reports Monday, the two actors are looking to depart the popular cable drama at the conclusion of Season 7, which will broadcast its final six episodes in early 2018. Both actors' contracts conclude after Season 7, Deadline reports.
Talks are taking place regarding a Season 8 renewal, but no agreement has been reached.
The network would not comment to USA TODAY on the potential departures of Markle and Adams.
Adams plays one of the leads: Mike Ross, a brilliant college dropout who was hired as an associate at a prestigious Manhattan law firm by attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) at the start of the series.
Markle plays Rachel Zane, a former paralegal who is now a lawyer and engaged to Mike, which might make a dual departure easier to plot. Markle has gained greater fame recently because of her relationship with Prince Harry, which blew up on the British tabloids' radar a year ago. There has even been talk of royal wedding bells.
Suits also stars Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman. Gina Torres, who left as a series regular after Season 6, has made guest appearances in the current season. Plans are in the works for a Suits spinoff starring Torres, The Hollywood Reporter says.
