BikeHouston is making Houston a bike friendly city

BikeHouston unites people who own bicycles to improve your ride and transform the beautiful city of Houston.

HOUSTON - On Thursday, October 11, Great Day Houston host Deborah Duncan spoke with Jessica Wiggins and Inge Ford from the nonprofit, BikeHouston.

BikeHouston is on a mission to transform Houston by creating safe bikeways in order to improve the quality of life of all Houstonians. Through partnerships with the City and other organizations, BikeHouston works to expand the mileage and access to high quality bike lanes and trails, to educate all road users, and to enhance enforcement of the laws that save lives.

The organization advocates to ensure that bicyclists’ needs are included in government work from planning to construction to law enforcement.

Their community education programs teach motorists about cyclists’ rights and cyclists about their rights and responsibilities. BikeHosuton also hosts events designed to empower everyone to start riding a bike.

Their next event, The Moonlight Ramble is a historic midnight ride in Houston with contests for best costumes and best lit bike! This year’s Ramble in on October 27th and starts at Saint Arnold Brewing Company. There will be a 10-mile and 20-mile option.
