RodeoHouston announced a couple of major changes Tuesday involving ticket sales and resales. They are partnering with Flash Seats digital tickets so that fans can access their tickets on their phones.
Flash Seats by AXS will make it easier to sell tickets on the secondary market. And in a dramatic policy change, the rodeo will allow those tickets to be resold for more than face value.
“We are excited to provide Flash Seats to all of our RODEOHOUSTON fans,” said Joel Cowley, Rodeo president and CEO. “The use of Flash Seats and the secondary market will provide better customer service to our loyal season ticket buyers who will now be able to resell their unused seats to enthusiastic fans in a safe and secure environment. This change to our previous ticket resale policy allows us to adapt to new technology and user needs."
Flash Seats digital tickets allows for an easy transfer of tickets to family, friends and co-workers. It will be the only method of delivery for individual tickets to all 20 RodeoHouston performances in 2018.
Instead of using well-known secondary markets like StubHub, RodeoHouston will create its own marketplace. It will be open to the public in early December.
Tickets for the two Garth Brooks performances will go on sale Friday, December 1. Brooks will open and close the 2018 season. More than 20,000 tickets total for the two shows will be available at rodeohouston.com.
The full RodeoHouston lineup will be announced Thursday, Jan. 4. Tickets for the remaining Rodeo performances will go on sale Thursday, Jan. 11, via rodeohouston.com.
The 2018 Rodeo is scheduled for Feb. 27 – March 18.
