Bill Prasad is the Mental Health and Wellness expert for KHOU 11 News.
He is a licensed professional counselor and licensed chemical dependency counselor working as a therapist for Contemporary Medicine Associates in Bellaire.
He specializes in treating people who are challenged by trauma, addiction, depression and anxiety.
He is also trained as a critical incident trauma responder and was active in efforts to treat hundreds of people in the days following the devastation left by hurricane Harvey’s flooding.
Bill has also worked as a senior leader in hospitals and in addiction treatment.
Before moving to Houston, Bill directed a behavior health program for Fairfax County Fire and Rescue in Virginia. Also, he worked as an Employee Assistance Program counselor for Raytheon and the Office of Naval Intelligence in Maryland.
Bill has used his skills to deliver presentations to myriad audiences to include first responders, defense contractors and Fortune 500 companies on topics that include leadership, organizational trauma and workplace stress.
Bill has post graduate certifications in leadership from the University of Houston-Downtown and in the treatment of psychological trauma from Johns Hopkins University. He has Master’s Degrees in counseling psychology and in the study of religions and ethnic conflict.
