What do you love most about your job?
I feel privileged to tell people’s stories for a living. Everyone has a unique story and a voice that should be heard. I enjoy exploring communities and think it’s neat that no 2 days on the job are ever the same.
What is your favorite movie?
You never think you’ll be stumped by that until you’re asked it! I used to fancy myself a movie buff. I wrote film and restaurant reviews for my college newspaper and LOVED watching and analyzing movies. Right now, I’m not up to date on what’s out there, but I enjoy the gamut of genres – from “The Naked Gun” to “GoodFellas,” to old classics.
What music do you like most?
I am a free spirit when it comes to music (laughing). Classic Rock from the 60’s and 70’s is my favorite, but I enjoy folk, 80’s pop, alternative, classical. I listen to “The Rolling Stones” and “The Band” to “Foster the People.”
What’s your hometown? I was born and raised in Kings Point on the North Shore of Long Island, just outside New York City limits. Why -- do I have an accent? (laughing)
Have you ever been star-struck? I’ve gotten to interview some pretty famous people in all different fields. I suppose the person who brought an immediate smile to my face was Art Garfunkel. “Simon and Garfunkel” are so iconic, and it was sentimental to me to interview him because my father graduated from the same high school as the duo, in Queens.
What’s your favorite vacation spot? I haven’t been on a vacation in a while and am open to suggestions! I used to travel off the beaten path. Most recently, I visited Ontario, Canada and was floored by the natural beauty.
What living person inspires you most? I’d have to say my young son. He inspires me to be the best version of myself every day – to learn more, feel more, do more, contribute more.
